Fund raising for Lyca's special chairs

In the past it entailed us to sell a property to make a dream come true. We were able to buy a high quality stroller for our special child, Lyca, when we sold our town house unit. I'm glad that there is now a site that helps people raise funds to achieve near to impossible if not really impossible dreams. It was my dream for Lyca to be able to talk, and now I have to accept that it is impossible. It was also my dream for her to be able to walk normally soon, but I am now enlightened that what matters is whatever can help her at present, thanks to the doctors who did not know each other but told me the same thing.

At first braces were suggested but everyone realized they couldn't be the best tools that Lyca would need, so my Part 1 post of  "Braces for Lyca" will no longer have a part 2 which should already show her actual braces. It was decided by the doctors that Lyca will need a special wheelchair that will correct the malformations her bones have started to develop. Lyca had always been a child poured with blessings perhaps because she pours people with blessings too  (not financial blessings and only God knows what kind of blessings an angel like Lyca would bring not only to the people around her but to the people who have read about her life).  She was granted for free the wheelchair that she will need to correct her bones, though it is not the kind that can be brought with her wherever she goes.

The fund raising therefore will now help Lyca's sister get another wheelchair portable enough to easily bring her to her school, Resources for the Blind, four times a week, and to her therapies two times a week.
Lyca's stroller doesn't fit her anymore.  A pillow has to be placed on the seat to lessen the "C curve" that causes her scoliosis. The strap of her bag hanging on the stroller serves as a head rest.

Dra. Maria Regina Cunanan-Espinosa did all the measuring to custom-fit the wheelchair for Lyca

I just can't stop dreaming for this angel that God lent me. If Lyca won't talk nor walk normally in the future, I wish I could at least bring her to a place like the United States and see how their therapies using advanced technologies could work on her for any possible improvement.

Decluttering and Preparing for Christmas - Part 1

The "Decluttering Dream" I introduced in my previous post (last month) is indeed a big one, I realized. But it is something that should be started and maintained so there will be a smooth flow of energy in the immediate surroundings of a person. Good results will follow because there will also be a smooth flow of energy inside the body, mind and spirit.

I am so glad that I have just converted a negative forecast into a positive outcome because I was motivated to do this decluttering project based on a Feng Shui warning on my susceptibility to illness this month, then I was blessed to suddenly see a book with tips on decluttering that will help ward off illnesses since it will result to a smooth flow of energy, like I mentioned earlier.

I started by removing the big center table from the Southeast location of our bedroom which is my sign's location as well as my husband's (Snake and Dragon). My location should be free from clutter, says the warning. Clutter is hard to remove from a bedroom but as long as they are organized in functional containers, they will be put to use as expected and will no longer be called clutter. Of course those that are no longer used among the family members' clothes and shoes should be given away. Next was what to place on the center table that I transferred to the living room. I've coincided my preparation for Christmas with my rearranging of pieces of furniture so a few Christmas decors were placed on the table, and this time, it was early enough for me to look for Advent candles. Some clutters are not bad, according to the book, like the photo albums mostly of my children that I open once in a while, an activity that makes me feel good, so they were retained on the lower part of the center table.

On the wall between our bedroom and the living room are some of my favorite things, like the graduation portraits of my son and daughter, mother and child wall carving, a small frame for family pictures, the wall clock that I cross stitched, then on top of the piano is the family of three sheep figurine which symbolizes a happy family, and since it is Christmas, my favorite house covered with snow which serves as our overnight lamp. This area, I always frame with Christmas garlands every Christmas. Christmas lights on the garland will be installed next month.

Not much change in the dining area where Mama Mary's altar is and the kitchen, except for the Christmas motif which included poinsettia flowers. Of course more chipped glass wares were discarded. I had my lesson on that because I got a cut for not discarding a chipped one.

There are still a lot of decluttering to be done in the living area since we just have a small house. Some are doable while some might remain a dream for a long time. Like the books on the display cabinet that I have to sell hopefully in the near future, perhaps some of the movies in DVDs that my husband collected though I know they are really very good movies just like the "South Pacific" we watched while I was shooting the photos here. My dream to replace the "fat screen" we had was fulfilled when we sold the lot my husband co-owned with his sister, and now my dream is to replace the "fat amplifiers" that overpower the Christmas decors at Christmas. I guess I will retain my slim Christmas tree forever, so it's the size of the electronics that have to be reduced, except for the screen of course.

Follow the Master

When I was attending the art workshops of Mr. Fernando Sena, Philippine's "Father of Art Workshops", I believed I could be good using any medium, except watercolor. But the works of the master, Mr. Sena, like his work in watercolor shown here, inspire me not to stop dreaming that there will come a time I can do a good art piece using watercolor.

My talent in drawing was discovered in grade school when we had a project to make a scrapbook of the different kinds of birds. which became one of my favorite subjects in painting like the one I did using pastel in my photo with the master, and the parrots where I used pentel pens during Mr. Sena's workshop. He had always guided his students, pointing out what is lacking in our works, or what were the mistakes we made.

Let this "big dream" of following my master to make a beautiful watercolor painting be added to my Dreams List. Perhaps another dream which I believe I share with many artists, is for Mr. Sena to soon be a National Artist. Let that dream be written in the universe' list of dreams and be fulfilled!

She started a joke

Today, September 29, is my friend's birthday and my former classmates and I paid her a visit. We were the best of friends in high school but we did not graduate together because at that early age she knew how to dream big and had to work in a place where she could be a scholar till she graduates in college.

The next thing I knew, she already owns a school nearby. We could be the best of friends like before, but we both became too busy, I with my work and she with her school where her success was phenomenal.

Our high school reunion could bring us closer again, both of us initially active during meetings. She had very good sense of humor so anybody could easily make her laugh during those meetings, and there was a time she told me I really made her laugh. I was glad to hear that, but I was touched more when she issued a check to me to buy a comb gadget that will prevent the recurrence of stroke of our high school class President. The amount was almost double the cost of the gadget so we were also able to buy him supplements to cleanse his blood vessels, like Resveratrol (Tiens Vigour Rousing).

The last time I saw her was during one of our meetings in April last year in her school. She invited me to come with her in a classroom to meet some of her adult students. They were finalizing their schedules for review classes. One student had to leave earlier so asked permission to do so and hugged my friend. My friend jokingly said, "anyone who hugs me passes the exams (government exams)". So after the meeting, the adult students formed a line and hugged her while she was almost laughing. I was smiling as I watched, it was just a joke from her, but the whole scene was so touching.

That was my last memory of her because her biggest joke was to be invisible after that. It was only last month when I learned she had passed away. She had Stage 4 breast cancer so chemotherapy was not an option. Perhaps she just wanted to be happy with her family during her remaining months, not to be pitied by the people around her. Perhaps she doesn't want to see people crying. Those were the real reasons why she became invisible. How could I have forgotten who you are, my friend?

I wonder how my friend became very successful. Perhaps it all started with a joke and when she was starting to prosper she wanted to surprise everyone so she worked harder.

Uncertainties

I just said in my previous post that perhaps I can be a "wellness consultant", but I was really thinking of a very ambitious dream because instead of just TCM, I was envisioning a consultant who will know where to guide a person for his wellness, and that covers all, from "hilot" to mainstream medicine. I just realized I might be pertaining to "Superman".

So as far as that dream is concerned, there are lots of uncertainties. Issues have to be addressed one at a time and that can take years.

I am now back to my just one dream at the moment, for my special child to get the right education and therapies she needs. Even these are uncertain. But we have started whatever we can do, thanks for the tips given by the "Resources for the Blind" organization. Our special child can now drink water on her own, with control inspite of her cerebral palsy and blindness. She can already say "air" clearly, not just "er", whenever she hears an airplane pass by. Just a month ago, that possibility was uncertain.

Uncertainties are just for the present time because no one knows what can happen tomorrow, or even just a minute from now. It would be best to accept and embrace uncertainties. It is a way of affirming what actually is real.

Winning the Lotto

In this age of collective karma, what else is there to dream about? Of course those who are single can still dream of marrying, but in their married life should be more spiritual than material.

So why is the title of this post "Winning the Lotto" if I’m talking about spirituality in lieu of materialism? Maybe because it’s the only remaining item in my "Dreams List" that can possibly happen, and because I almost won last Saturday. All my numbers were in the winning number, but mine was separately spread in 3 entries, LOL!

Why do I need to win the Lotto then? I want to go to U.S.A. which I’ve never visited. Some closest relatives live there and there is a lot I can accomplish there, aside from getting the right therapeutic facilities like in an “Elk center”, for my special child. That is assuming I will get a student visa for her. I can still continue paying my own karmic accounts by being of service to the people there, whenever I have the time. I can be a "wellness consultant" teaching the holistic principles of TCM especially for my relatives. Some thought just popped out of my mind, and that can be a new dream related to that, so my next post should say something about it!

A Star in God's Eyes

During the Christmas program at Brahma Kumaris, each one was given a card containing a Christmas symbol. My husband got a symbol that fits him, and here's what I got:

The Star

"You are the star in God's eyes, who illuminates and shows everyone to true peace and happiness".

Wow! I think that will be the biggest dream I'll ever have, and the biggest challenge too. But I guess I've started to try to be one though perhaps I lacked self-confidence. I wrote about "God's Message" which was the main reason for starting a blog, but I didn't care if people will believe it or not. Maybe I was right that the message was for specific people at specific times, but maybe I could have exerted more effort to make mankind believe it because the message was for the whole mankind and not just for selected people.

How do I fulfill that biggest dream now? Perhaps I'll just continue sharing everything that I learn which will help people attain peace and happiness. In the first place, that was my main objective in creating the three blogs I'm now maintaining. I couldn't believe that while writing this and searching for the URL of my "God's Message" post, I found another venue or a popular site where I can fulfill that dream!

May the year 2012 bring true peace and happiness to everyone!

My dream condo unit

There was a time I dreamed of owning a condo unit but forgot about the idea. Until I realized the difficulty of building a house and also maintaining it at this age. I got units in Basic Interior Design course and as a result, I said to myself when the time comes I'll build my own house, I'll focus on it and even take a leave from work. Time flew and it's a different story now.

I'm again dreaming of owning a condo unit, but this time I have very specific requirements so it's not easy to find one. The most critical requirement is the toilet and bath which should not be located at the southeast, nor south and north part of the unit, simply because those are my lucky directions where I should study or work. Again related to the toilet and bath, preferably it should not be seen from the entrance but that will be hard to follow because most units especially the small ones have the T&B located next to the entrance door.

Another consideration is the placement of the stove which should not be fixed so I can put it in a place where the front door is not facing the back of the person cooking. "A surprised cook will spoil the meals", I'm not sure why that belief should not make sense but I'd like to follow that anyway.

The floor where the unit is located should be at the ground or second floor, though a breathtaking view will of course be sacrificed so I may still consider a higher floor. Why I'd like a unit at the ground or second floor is because of its accessibility to the amenities specifically the pools and the gardens. I have a special reason, the kiddie pool will help in the therapy of my special child.

That's about it, my dream condo unit. I've seen a lot of them but the earliest turnover is 2014, LOL!

A Mother's Dream

As a mother of two grown-ups, I can say I have fulfilled my dreams. Good upbringing, good education, and good health, those were my dreams for them. When they finished college, my dream was for them to have good jobs. Now that they are adults and have good jobs, they have their own dreams and I can only pray that they will always be in good health because most of the time, it is health that is sacrificed to achieve most of an adult’s dreams.

But God doesn’t stop to challenge me as a mother and as a dreamer combined. For my special needs child, my dreams are more complicated. Her health comes first. Good upbringing is to constantly show her that she is loved. The hardest part is good education which means special education plus complete therapies for her and that will require a big sum of money. That is what makes my dream complicated. And perhaps, that dream was the very reason why this blog was created in the first place.

Today, July 24, is Lyca’s 9th birthday. I started this blog in 2008, seriously dreaming that I should win the Lotto so I can bring this special child to the United States where I’ve seen very good facilities for her development, in the internet. That was three years ago and I haven’t stopped hoping for that dream to come true. Even with her disabilities, I know this child has the right to be educated and that obligation makes my dream stronger, and I have to look for ways to fulfill that even without winning the Lotto.

My wish for her birthday next year is to already have a clear picture of the fulfillment of my dream of special education and the necessary therapies for her. For now, my dream is focused on her health, that she will be seizure free with the help of a Modified Atkin’s diet. In fact, that shouldn’t be just a dream but a prayer, a prayer that will be granted if two or more people will pray for that. If you happen to read this and join in that prayer, a mother’s dream is about to come true.

Worldwide health care

Under the arms of the United Nations is a World Health Organization which of course is in charge of the world's health. It was created in 1948, the time when the first batches of baby boomers were born. Though born later, I was a baby boomer and I probably knew the very specific functions of this organization when I was in grade school. But that was long ago, and I can just imagine how hard it was to develop health programs for the whole world. This is the 21st century where everything is possible with the help of modern technology and the internet. The great dream for worldwide health care is possible not only by an organization but even by a single baby boomer.

I admit that I am one of those baby boomers trying to be a messiah to save the health of mankind, in my own little way of sharing whatever I learned about health and wellness. I am aware though that caring for the world's health is not as easy as sharing information through the internet. In my blogs, I share some philosophies of TCM or Traditional Chinese Medicine, not knowing who would believe them.

Perhaps the greater dream is for all philosophies of medicine to be integrated, such as Oriental or Traditional Chinese Medicine integrated to Western Medicine. Some might say, that is an impossible dream, but I prefer to base my beliefs on simple observations. For instance, the scrubs which are now worn as medical uniforms in hospitals can easily be the standard uniforms for healthcare. So when one sees a person in scrubs in any part of the world, an instant message is understood: that person's mission is health care.

I've noticed in Wikipedia's definition of health care that it pertains to humans and haven't found the word "animal" in its definitions. In TCM, acupuncture can be applied to animals as well, in fact pet lovers should start learning about it if they really care for their pets. The scrubs can be veterinary scrubs that will send the same message of caring for health though this time it involves animals. Health care includes acupuncture while acupuncture includes the animals, therefore health care should include the animals.

Winning the Lotto

I was so excited to start the day but it's only 5 o'clock in the morning so I decided to just start this post. Two hours from now I expect to have breakfast outside and then go to a Lotto booth. The jackpot prize has reached the highest in the history of Lotto in the Philippines. It is now more than 400 million pesos.

The long lines to the Lotto booth would tell that anybody wants to win this lottery. I am somewhat different though. I really would like to win but I'm a little scared. I practice the principles of TCM, so I try to avoid emotions that will affect my health. But how can someone avoid being overjoyed when he or she wins the Lotto? Overjoy can cause heart attack and that's what I'm scared of. But fear also affects the kidney, LOL!

Oh well, I've stopped dreaming because of too many tasks and schedules I had to fulfill and dreaming of winning this lottery is a break from a busy reality. Perhaps, some people who'd like to win have no time to dream small or they simply have to dream big this time. In my case I'd like to go to the U.S. to bring my special needs child, Lyca, to a cerebral palsy center where there is complete facilities for therapy. My Mom has a pool in her home in Las Vegas, it can also be part of Lyca's therapy, especially now that Lyca has grown big. The water would really be a big help for us to manage her weight and height.

Whoever will win surely deserves the prize for whatever purpose that only God knows. If you are that person, just don't forget to take it easy and just relax so you won't have a heart attack.

Revising a dream

In my original Dreams List, the 12th dream on the list was to win in the international category of the speech contest of Toastmasters Club and unfortunately not yet fulfilled. Since I am no longer an active member of that club, I don't think I can ever fulfill that dream because even if I become active again, the younger generations are getting better and better and always deserve to win in speech contests.

And so, I'm revising that dream, though this revised version is also very hard to achieve: to be an international speaker of Tiens, which requires that I should first be an 8-star distributor to qualify, and that is the harder part. My original objective for speaking to an international audience was to be able to spread God's message, but that was when the web was not yet widely used. It was the main reason why I became a blogger and by being one, I've started to spread my own true story about God's message. Perhaps it still makes a difference if they hear my story from my own voice. If they did not believe my written story, I'm sure they will feel the sincerity from my voice and will believe this time.

If talking to an international audience is not achievable, then whatever God will plan next, I wish I could guess or will be able to discern, so I could welcome it wholeheartedly.

Goodbye, my friend

Early this month, I was saddened by the news that a friend who became close to me died. For the last four years, I've wanted to see him, but perhaps I did not try enough and that was what made me have some guilt feelings, until I wrote this.

Joel wanted to excel in everything that he does. His dream was to be somebody that people will look up to someday. When we became close, he was taking up masters. We were partners in a ballroom dance club we attended after office, just outside the area where my office was. He would usually wait in my office, would usually rehearse his speech for his masters class, but whenever he did that, he would give the impression that he is a good speaker talking in front of an audience, much like a younger Boy Abunda of the Philippines. I knew about his weaknesses, but his strengths could easily cover them up. He was a person with big dreams, but sometimes, he would need people to boost his morale, and I was one of those people.

During the last day of his wake in Manila, I wanted to say “Goodbye, Joel”, but I could hardly say it and all I've said was the word “bye” that almost couldn't come out of my mouth. When I was about to leave with my companions who were also his close friends, I jokingly told them, “pinipigilan nya akong umalis” (“he was stopping me to leave now”). It was already morning when I arrived home because we still stopped by “Burger King” to eat. I went to the kitchen, opened the faucet to drink tap water when I saw a small moth fly to the sink from the tiled top, when it felt my presence. I was reminded of two symbols, the moth or butterfly symbolizing death or a dead person, and the presence of water which is where the lingering souls on earth prefer to stay. So I thought “this might be Joel saying thank you and goodbye”. With that in my mind, I decided to take a photo of the moth.

When I downloaded the photo to my laptop and checked the resolution by zooming it in, I was surprised to see a figure on the moth that looked like a man with thin but muscular frame that is waving. That was how Joel looked, and that could be his way of saying goodbye. It could be only me who could see that figure, but no matter how I try to convince myself that the figure was made up in my mind, I could still see the figure of a man that looked like Joel. And as I cropped the photo to create a closer view and made it brighter just now, I couldn't stop some tears to fall from my eyes.

As far as I'm concerned, my friend found a way to say “Goodbye”, not only to me but to all his friends, because he knew I will help him even after his death, by publishing this post with the photo, and that support is also my best way to say “Goodbye, my friend, rest in peace”.

Voice out your dreams!

Five years ago, when I was involuntarily retired just like my husband who was retired a year earlier than me, I found it necessary to study Interior Design to support my husband's possible venture in renovating offices or houses. However, my studies compromised an earlier promise to send my special child's caregiver to school, but promised that after I finish, which would be after two years, we'll push through with the plan for her to study.

Unfortunately, I had to stop my studies for financial reasons. The renovation business did not materialize, succeeding business ventures did not work, the coffee kiosk business remained but couldn't support any extra expenses and we had to pay cash for the balance of the lot where we've already paid 20% down payment. Until we can no longer sustain the coffee kiosk and I had to find a job but was not fortunate to find one. To continue my schooling as well as that of the child's caregiver was still in my thoughts but I had no choice but to defer those dreams. Until the caregiver sent her younger sister to school, I didn't notice that another two years had passed, because I thought that she decided to sacrifice herself since she and her sister couldn't go to school at the same time. She will need to shell out money for her own studies since it was not possible for her to depend totally on me for her studies, by the time I will have money to help her. During those times of financial crisis, I always dream in my sleep about a class I had to attend but either I forgot about my schedule or I will already be late for the class.

Early this month, the caregiver of my child left with a broken heart though she told me she'll just have a vacation. She never voiced out her dream to continue studying maybe because the previous years, she knew that I had to find a job and when I found one last year, I needed to wait to be regularized. For health reasons however, I had to resign meaning I won't be receiving a monthly income again. Maybe, if only she voiced out about her dream, I could have done something about it. She knew that I still continue dreaming for her because more than once in the recent past, I told her it would be good for her to study Physical Therapy and open a Wellness Center in their province someday. She never said anything about that idea, nor voiced out any other options she preferred.

I am very sad because she left telling others I did not fulfill any promise I made. It was never my intention not to fulfill those promises, in fact, a month before her scheduled vacation, I told her that one promise I made can soon be realized, and that was for us to go to Hongkong and visit the Disneyland there, together with my husband and sister-in-law, and that can surely push through as our Tiens' Indonesian upline's incentive to me, my husband and sister-in-law for the ranks we attained in Tiens.

Perhaps taking care of a special needs child takes a lot of patience and if that can be the compromise to voice out one's dreams to fulfill them, one can have second thoughts about voicing them out. But I admire my caregiver's patience and I believe there were other reasons that, or the totality of several reasons, kept her silent. Anyway, I'm still hoping and praying that she'll come back.

Now I'm sure I won't dream about a missed class in my sleep anymore, because it isn't really my dream, but somebody else's dream that is more important to be fulfilled.

My biggest dream remains, and that is for me and my special child to go to U.S.A. for a sponsored rehabilitation program for my child. Her caregiver was part of that dream, if her VISA will be approved, I told her.

Serious prayers are answered

It wasn't really too long when we started to pray seriously about a lot of wishes or needs. That was when we started praying with Lyca, our special needs child. From the expression of her face, we felt the seriousness of our prayers. One by one, those prayers were gradually answered.

Most of the dreams I published here were not included in our prayers. Maybe because they are big dreams. Maybe I should start praying seriously to make these dreams come true. Included in my big dreams was for Lyca to be able to walk. Some people close to Lyca pray for that and I can see that it is slowly being granted. I pray for that too, but not with Lyca. Maybe if we include that in our prayers with her, that will be answered faster like our other prayers. When Lyca prays, she's almost crying with her hands tightly clasped, as if asking for mercy.

Follow your dream!

My dream to go to Europe this year with the choir of my children was dependent on my winning a Lotto, but my winning a photo contest that I discovered on the web lately, will also give me the chance to at least go to Italy. This is the country in Europe I wouldn’t want to miss in case I’ll be blessed to go to this continent the second time around.

The photo contest was really a very inspiring news for me, so I’m now very busy selecting photos for my entries. There are a lot of good amateur photographers, but I shouldn’t lose hope. If my destiny is to go to Europe this July, then I will win. The last time I went to Europe, it was with the choir of my son but we only went to Greece. It was a priceless experience though, an AMAZING GRACE , because the choir of my son won three golds and the grand prize, and more than that, little miracles happened.

My son and daughter’s current choir, the Novo Concertante Manila, will be participating in a contest in Spain and they should leave on July 5. The photo contest’s finale will be on July 10 and 11 in Italy. This coming July, the Feng Shui forecast for both my daughter and me (Monkey and Snake) is a windfall luck. When I’ve read that earlier this year, I was thinking maybe the choir will win, because they will be in Europe for three weeks, but how about me? Maybe I will win the Lotto!

All I can do now is pray hard because it’s not only the Lotto I am counting on this time. It’s nice to know there is bigger chance for my dream to come true. That goes to show that seriously following a dream will open doors to make it come true!

2.3.09

A forgotten dream

Sometimes the dreams in our sleep remind us of dreams or goals that we seem to have forgotten. Last night, I dreamed that I was about to go to U.S.A. The reason was not clear in my dream. When I woke up, I was still thinking about it till I was reminded of a goal or dream I intentionally have forgotten because of lack of funds for transportation. It has been a dream to bring Lyca, my special needs child to an Elks center in the U.S. for children with cerebral palsy.

Maybe I should pursue that plan, or at least start to study the possibility of pursuing it. What remains in the adoption of Lyca is the registration of her birth using her new name but we still have to wait till the 30 days is over, from the day the finality of the court's decision was released. I haven't even checked yet how long we should wait but time flies and for all we know we should already be attending to the registration of her birth.

I'm now very careful with every cent that I get and that is probably the reason why I've ignored to think about that plan though there's a possibility a real property where we have a share might be sold this year. I think I've connected that particular plan too much to winning the Lotto to cover the expenses, because just before that dream in my sleep, I was thinking of a new dream to put up a Wellness Center if the real property I was talking about will be sold.

My dream last night has somehow enlightened me to prioritize people like Lyca, over new business plans. I just hope and pray that God will continue to lead me to the right path, even through the dreams in my sleep.

15.1.09

Dreams for 2009

Here are my dreams for 2009:

1. To win in Lotto! If I win the jackpot, I will go to Europe with a choir and my family, while the major part of my winnings will be properly planned for Lyca, my special needs child's program in the U.S. (if still necessary), and the organization of a foundation for artists and poor children with cerebral palsy next year.

2. To be a contestant in Deal or No Deal (LOL), and if I win a big amount, I'll continue my Interior Design course.

3. To earn more from my blogs, but this will only happen if you'll continuously visit them (please).

I can't believe only the above 3 are my dreams for this year. Maybe because I knew that my more important realistic dreams are about to come true. What are they?

1. To own a Tiens Dream Bio-energy Health Mattress.
2. For Lyca to be able to walk.
3. For Lyca to be able to talk.

28.9.08

A dream becoming a reality

Last Friday, I got a call from the social worker in-charge of the adoption case of our special child and she said the court's decision is about to be released. Weeks earlier, I also learned about the possibility for our special child to be sponsored in an Elks program in the U.S. Looks like the events are gearing towards the fulfillment of a dream! What's lacking now is the money I will need for us to go to the United States. Before I woke up this morning, I dreamed that a friend just told me a way to get a million dollars. And then this same morning, I read a blog's post titled "Nouveau Riche - dream which become reality".

Wow! Just look at those coincidences! Look what a "Dreams List" can do! I am now encouraging everyone to make a list of your dreams and write about them in detail. Have you read or watched "The Secret"? I've watched it after I've created this blog, so it was not related to this blog's creation, but what "The Secret" was saying is exactly what this blog is doing.

"Nouveau Riche" is "the new rich". Like what Ukion described in his blog, I want to be a "nouveau riche". Not to be a millionaire, but to use the millions to experience or realize the dreams that I believe in.

I'm Dreaming Again!

One dream that I haven’t included in my Dreams List was to have a home in the United States of America. That was because in the past I’ve decided to stay in the Philippines. But changes happen like the unexpected arrival of a special child to my life. I no longer plan for myself because what is more important now is how to give this special child who is blind and has cerebral palsy, the best therapies that will enable her to walk, talk and live a normal life. The best that I can think of is the program of Elks, which can be found in several parts of the United States like Ohio.

At present, all my plans for my special child’s therapy at Elks will come true if I win the lotto. But maybe, it is not the only way. Who knows, unexpected events can happen again that will allow our special child’s therapy at Elks, and even allow our family to own a house in U.S.A. I’ve stumbled upon a website of Real Estate in The Cleveland Ohio Area and while looking at the photos of the houses, I can’t help but dream again. A lakefront house with the beautiful view of Lake Erie just like in the photo shown is definitely a dream house! I can enjoy my favorite view of the sunset while Lyca our special child will enjoy the waters of the beach resorts all around! To top it all, the Ohio Elks Association Children’s Developmental Center at Amherst is just nearby!

Oh well, I’ve intentionally forgotten to have a dream house in the Philippines, but now I’d like to have a dream house in U.S.A., and at Cleveland, Ohio at that! Thanks to the contest of “Cleveland Ohio Real Estate Blog” for inspiring me to dream again. I won’t win a house and lot (LOL), if the readers thought it’s the prize of the contest, but I can win $25 or Entrecard credits.

Whatever, there is still a prize for being inspired, and that is the opportunity to share your dreams, as well as your own inspiring true stories!
