Row, row your boat

While I was typing my message for everyone in Twitter to "share your dream" through this blog, I heard my special child's voice which means she just woke up. I got her and sat her on my lap while typing and at the same time singing...

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream

I repeatedly sang those lines until I began to "internalize" each word and realize that such a simple nursery rhyme has a very deep meaning!

Life is but a dream, but you have to row your boat... gently down the stream, which can be full of challenges and obstacles.

It can be very tiring to row your boat alone because you have to row left and right. The boat will move smoothly if you have a partner, or a team if it's a big boat. I saw a movie where a leader prompts when to row so that the big boat can move smoothly and swiftly.

We may all have different dreams but if we give each other moral support and realize that we are in a WIN-WIN situation whatever our role is, we can create a synergy that will help us attain our dreams.

I'm sorry I was sleeping!

I almost deleted this Dreams List blog. At first I decided to retain it, but just to use it for testing new templates and other features that I might add to a blog site. I didn’t notice that there’s an option not to include a blog in the Blogger’s profile so it was shown in my list of blogs. I realized that not deleting this blog would be unfair to the readers, but when I was about to delete it, I noticed there is a comment in my last post. That comment was from HotMomma and it woke me up to the realization that by deleting this blog I am allowing myself to stop dreaming.

“I’m sorry I was sleeping” is a good alibi but maybe I was really sleeping. I wanted to forget my dreams because it is hard to dwell on them in reality. Somehow I’ve consciously decided that I can fulfill my dreams while sleeping, at no cost at all!

I might also be right not to dwell on my dreams because times have changed and some of them might be obsolete. As much as possible, I don’t want any of my dreams deleted, just changed with something more realistic and appropriate to the present times.

Maybe I should already be thinking of dreams on the list that should already be changed, like “to write a book about life”. I’m already fulfilling that dream by blogging, am I right? So maybe I can replace that with “to create a blog about life” or to be more specific, “to create a blog that will inspire people”. I think I like that better.

I can also add more dreams to the list but I will need more time to evaluate what areas should I focus on in the coming months, or what should be my short term goals. What remained on my Dreams List were long term goals and that can be the reason why I became sleepy.

Any suggestions?
